Mr Weaver has in excess of 30 years experience in the energy industry worldwide. He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK and Australia; he is Fellow of the Energy Institute and founder Member of the Institute of Petroleum Engineers. He is a professional electrical, mechanical and nuclear engineer and senior energy professional.
From 1994 to 2000 he was CEO of CMS Energy International, a large USA Energy company, when he was responsible for many of the prominent energy industry projects and acquisitions in the world during the 1990's. From 2000 to 2004 he was Managing Director (Europe) for BP Gas Power and Renewables.
He previously held senior managerial positions with CEGB (Central Electricity Generating Board), BEI (British Electricity International), National Power and Scottish Power. He currently sits on the board of two other large London incorporated Companies and advises several banks and investment funds both in London and USA.
Mr Bensley has been an energy and resources consultant since 2002, prior to that he held Senior Management positions with the Halliburton Group of Companies, British Gas and BHP. He has extensive line management, operations, turn-around and restructuring experience and lived and worked Internationally since graduating with a BSc(Hons) in Civil Engineering from Surrey University in the UK. His experience includes significant offshore, marine and sub-sea operations as well as the development and implementation of energy infrastructure projects. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia and the Australian Institute of Energy. He is Chartered Professional Engineer, CPEng in Australia.
Mr Bensley sits on the Boards of two high profile, charity organisations in Australia, which support young people. He has a number of formal and informal energy and finance industry relationships and associations in Asia Pacific. He has been acting COO since July 2007 and is leading the detailed operational restructuring of the Company to that of a commercial wave energy conversion business. He was appointed a Director of Oceanlinx in 2007.
Mr Day is an internationally experienced corporate financial manager with over 27 y ears experience including senior positions in financial directorship, accounting, treasury, project evaluation, risk management, corporate governance and company secretarial functions. These roles have covered sectors including renewable energy, resources, commodity and trading, property development and manufacturing and have included business sizes ranging from start-up enterprises in Australian and the UK to major publicly listed companies including BHP Billiton.
Mr Day holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting, with Merit) from the University of Wollongong and holds Fellow status with CPA Australia. He was appointed a Director and CFO of Oceanlinx in 2007.
Dr Tom Denniss founded the Company (initially called Energetech Australia Pty Ltd) in 1997 and spent nine years as the Company's first CEO. He developed the core technology that Oceanlinx is now commercializing. Prior to forming the Company, he spent four years lecturing in mathematics and oceanography at the University of NSW and five years in an investment bank. He has continued as a prominent contributor to the marine technology industry over many years through both academia and industry conferences and committees around the globe. He is the recipient of a number of awards for his pioneering work in wave power.
As Chief Technology Officer Dr Denniss will continue to improve and advance Oceanlinx OWC technology as well as use his extensive global network of relationships with academic and industry leaders to further enhance the Company's position and profile as well as expand the Company's investment and business portfolio.
Dr Dietmar Bauer is a founder and Managing Partner of Dynamics Venture Capital Fund GmbH which was formerly known as the RWE Venture Capital Fund. The fund was launched in 2001 with a fund volume of €50 million to invest in high-tech companies in the space of energy and water technologies.
Dr Bauer has some twenty years of management experience in a variety of positions and businesses, including Senior Vice President at Degussa AG and Management Consultant at A.T. Kearney. He has held Board positions at several high-tech companies within the Dynamics VC Fund portfolio. He has served on the Oceanlinx Board since 2002, initially as an observer.
Dr Bauer received his MBA degree from SDA Bocconi (Milan) and the Wharton School (Philadelphia). He holds a PhD degree in Chemistry from the Technical University in Munich.
From 1990 to March 2004, Mr Blackmore was CEO of Murray Darling Basin Commission, a partnership between Australian state governments and the community to promote the use of water, land and other environmental resources for the Murray-Darling Basin. From 1990 to 1999, he was also a director of the Land and Water Research and Development Corporation.
Mr Blackmore is a senior water industry executive and since 2004 has worked as an independent consultant on national and international water issues. He chairs a range of research and development organisations associated with water in Australia including CRCE Water and Advisory Council Water for a Healthy Country. Since 2001, Donald has been a Director of CRC for Plant Based Solutions to Salinity. He was appointed a Director of Oceanlinx in 2007.
Mr Fretheim has over 30 years experience worldwide in the leadership of growth companies and the development of energy infrastructure projects. Before joining Oceanlinx, he was President and CEO of Amoco Power Resources Corp. He has held senior executive positions in the global energy industry.
Mr Fretheim became a non-executive Director of the Company in November 2002 and was non executive Chairman of Oceanlinx from July 2003 to June 2007.
Andrew is an experienced venture investor in clean technologies.
Prior to founding Cleantech Ventures, Andrew held the investment management role at the Centre for Energy and Greenhouse Technologies, where he focused on seed and early stage energy investments. Previously he was a management consultant with Deloitte and has also held a variety of product development roles within cleantech start-ups both in Australia and the US.
Andrew holds an MBA with distinction from Melbourne Business School, a Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne, a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Melbourne, and a B.Sc from the University of Melbourne. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served on several investee boards.
Mr Joaquim Servulo Rodrigues is currently the CEO of ES Tech Ventures, a Portuguese Venture Capital Fund Management Company of the BES Group, which invests in high growth business areas, Since 2000, he has held board positions on a number of the companies in which they have invested.
From 2004 to 2006, Mr Rodrigues was a General Manager for Banco Espirito Santo, responsible for the Consumer Credits Department. He also held other General Manager positions with Banco Espirito Santo from 1997 to 2000. Mr Rodrigues holds a Masters Degree in Electrotechnical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon (IST) as well as an MBA from INSEAD, France. He was appointed a Director of Oceanlinx in 2007.
