Stuart Bensley
Chairman
Stuart has been an energy and resources consultant since 2002, prior to that he held Senior Management and Executive positions with the Halliburton Group of Companies, British Gas and BHP. He has extensive line management, operations, turn-around and restructuring experience and lived and worked Internationally since graduating with a BSc(Hons) in Civil Engineering from Surrey University in the UK. His experience includes significant offshore, marine and sub-sea operations as well as the development and implementation of major energy infrastructure projects. He is a graduate of the AMP program at Macquarie University in Sydney, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy and a Chartered Professional Engineer, CPEng in Australia.
Stuart is a Director of Renewed Carbon Pty Ltd, an Associate of Jacanda Capital, and is on the Boards of The Youth Junction Inc, which provides co-located and diversionary services to disadvantaged youth in the Western suburbs of Melbourne and The Australian Council of Child and Youth Organisations which trains and accredits youth service organisations in Safeguarding Children throughout Australia. He is a founding and current committee member of the Society for Underwater Technology (Melbourne). He was appointed a Director of Oceanlinx in October 2007. |

Ali Baghaei
Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director
Ali is a highly experienced industrialist and senior executive with over 20 years successful international commercial, technical, financial and leadership capability across a wide range of industries including: capital works construction, marine, defence and power generation. He has developed and delivered significant capital projects ranging from power generation plants to defence systems and shipbuilding including leading a A$30 billion Future Aircraft Carrier and Maritime Airborne Surveillance and Control program for the UK Ministry of Defence. He has considerable cross cultural experience in the UK, Europe, South East Asia and Australia.
Ali’s recent roles have included Executive General Manager - Transfield, Vice President and Director - Naval Business Group for Thales / ADI, and Program Director - Ministry of Defence (UK).
In addition to his marine engineering qualifications, Ali is a chartered engineer and holds a master of engineering degree in mechanical and manufacturing engineering with distinction. He is a Fellow of the British Institute of Mechanical Engineers, a Member of the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. |
Andrew Pickering

Andrew is an experienced venture investor in clean technologies.
Prior to founding Cleantech Ventures, Andrew held the investment management role at the Centre for Energy and Greenhouse Technologies, where he focused on seed and early stage energy investments. Previously he was a management consultant with Deloitte and has also held a variety of product development roles within cleantech start-ups both in Australia and the US.
Andrew holds an MBA with distinction from Melbourne Business School, a Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne, a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Melbourne, and a B.Sc from the University of Melbourne. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served on several investee boards. Andrew was originally appointed a Director of Oceanlinx in February 2007.

Donald Blackmore
Non-Executive Director
From 1990 to March 2004, Donald was CEO of Murray Darling Basin Commission, a partnership between Australian state governments and the community to promote the use of water, land and other environmental resources for the Murray-Darling Basin. From 1990 to 1999, he was also a director of the Land and Water Research and Development Corporation.
Donald is a senior water industry executive and since 2004 has worked as an independent consultant on national and international water issues. He chairs a range of research and development organisations associated with water in Australia including CRCE Water and Advisory Council Water for a Healthy Country. Since 2001, Donald has been a Director of CRC for Plant Based Solutions to Salinity. He was appointed a Director of Oceanlinx in April 2007. |
Joaquim Servulo Rodrigues

Joaquim is currently the CEO of ES Tech Ventures, a Portuguese Venture Capital Fund Management Company of the BES Group, which invests in high growth business areas. Since 2000, he has held board positions on a number of the companies in which they have invested.
From 2004 to 2006, Joaquim was a General Manager for Banco Espirito Santo, responsible for the Consumer Credits Department. He also held other General Manager positions with Banco Espirito Santo from 1997 to 2000. Joaquim holds a Masters Degree in Electrotechnical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon (IST) as well as an MBA from INSEAD, France. He was appointed a Director of Oceanlinx in May 2007. |
Paulo Alexandre Dias Caetano

Paulo has an MBA specialising in International Management (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), Master in European Studies (Universidade Católica Portuguesa) and a Degree in Electrical Engineering (Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal). Since 2004 he has been an Executive Board Member of FomentInvest, SGPS, a private equity firm owned by several Portuguese banks and foundations and since 1996 he has been Director of the Portuguese Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (APCRI). Prior to this, Paulo held the positions of Executive Board Member of Telecelular Investimentos SGPS (1999 to 2004), Board Deputy and Board Member of Empresa Geral de Fomento, S.A (1992 to 1999), and Manager of the Investment and Development Division of Investimentos e Participações do Estado, S.A (1989 to 1992). Paulo was appointed a Director of Oceanlinx in September 2008.

Walter Locher
Investor Director
As part of the North American Team, Walter is a Senior Advisor of Emerald Technology Ventures and is responsible for leading venture capital deals in the fields of energy, materials, water and agriculture Technologies. Walter serves on the boards of Advanced Bionutrition, AgraQuest, SDCmaterials, AquaSpy International and is a board observer of AgIon. He has over 40 years of experience in international business beginning his career with the Swiss-based Volkart organization. During his tenure he held several executive positions including CFO, head of the cotton division, and was responsible for the merger and acquisition activities of the group. In 1990 he negotiated the acquisition of Anderson Clayton Corp. then the largest integrated cotton processing firm in the US. Until the sale of the company in 1997, he was CEO of Anderson Clayton. Walter was born and raised in Switzerland but has spent most of his working life in the USA, Asia and Latin America. He completed the 1-year business administration course at IMEDE/IMD and the Senior Executive Program at Stanford University. Walter is fluent in German, English and Spanish. He was originally appointed a Director in October 2002 and then again in December 2006. Walter's current and third period of Directorship with Oceanlinx commenced in September 2008.
